It seems that the humidity in the country has finally subsided and has been replaced by a lovely, scorching dry heat. It is heaven on earth! (except in my apartment, which is more like the fiery depths of hell).
I went to Daiki yesterday and bought a big paddle pool, which I am going to set up at Bs house tonight, and sit back and relax in. Gonna buy some champagne... maybe some Moet and Chandon... or maybe some Vodka to mix with lime and soda... oh the choices! Or I could have Chuu-hai, which is more Japanese. Or I can buy the frozen cocktails they sell in the 7/11.
Anyway, I probably shouldnt drink too much tonight as I am working tomorrow..... and tomorrow afternoon!!!
"What do you mean, Tori? Of course you are working tomorrow..."
I have gotten myself a trial at a local Izakaya (Japanese style bar/restaurant) to work as a waitress/kitchenhand after school. I have been studying the menu to learn the names of things. Should be a laugh anyway. As it is against my visa to do any paid work, I am "volunteering", and will get paid in food- which is excellent because the food there is delicious. The Master of the bar is pretty nervous about me working for him, so I am only doing a trial. If I am any good, and I enjoy it, (and the customers like me) I can stay. But for the time being it is just going to be over the summer holidays. I thought it would be a good way to improve my Japanese.
So all in all, things are looking good this week!!
